On March 30, 2006, the SC Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will be hosting a Public Information Workshop at the Military Magnet Academy cafeteria, 2950 Carner Avenue, North Charleston. The workshop will be held between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with a short presentation made by SCDOT officials at 5:30 p.m.
The purpose of this workshop is to present access roadway alternatives to the public for comment and feedback. The access roadway eventually selected will provide direct access between the proposed marine container terminal at the Charleston Naval Complex and I-26. All potential impacts to the community and the environment from the Proposed Project (i.e., the terminal and the access roadway) are being evaluated in the Environmental Impact Statement.
At any point during the workshop, the public may ask questions, study design drawings and maps, and provide comments.
