The Corps is hosting a Public Information Meeting on May 12, 2005 at the North Charleston Coliseum from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The North Charleston Coliseum is located at 5001 Coliseum Drive in North Charleston (see directions below).
The purpose of this Public Information Workshop is to share with the public information related to the progress of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed marine container terminal at the Charleston Naval Complex. During the workshop, the Corps will provide information on marine container terminal project alternatives, feasible access roadway alternatives, and preliminary results from environmental studies.
The public is encouraged to attend the Public Information Workshop for the opportunity to learn about the status of the EIS while mingling among those people central to its development. The workshop will be an informal meeting for the public; however, written public feedback is encouraged and will be collected throughout the evening.
Directions:
From I-26 Westbound:
Follow I-26 West to Exit 213 (Montague Avenue/Mall Drive). Turn left onto W. Montague Avenue and travel 0.4 miles. Turn right onto International Boulevard and travel another 0.4 miles before turning left onto Coliseum Drive. This will take you to the main gate of the coliseum. Once through the gate, veer towards the right and park in Lot A. The entrance to Club Room North is outside. From the parking lot, head towards the main ticket doors. Outside the main ticket doors, there will be a sign that reads, "Club Room North, Up the Ramp". The entrance to Club Room North is at the top of the ramp.
From North (Mount Pleasant):
Take I-526 west (towards North Charleston). Follow I-526 past the I-526/I-26 interchange. Take the first exit past the interchange for International Blvd., Montague Ave., and Charleston International Airport. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto International Boulevard. Travel approximately 0.4 miles and turn right onto Coliseum Drive. This will take you to the main gate of the coliseum. Once through the gate, veer towards the right and park in Lot A. The entrance to Club Room North is outside. From the parking lot, head towards the main ticket doors. Outside the main ticket doors, there will be a sign that reads, "Club Room North, Up the Ramp". The entrance to Club Room North is at the top of the ramp.
If there is a person at the parking lot gate collecting money, please inform the individual that you are attending a public meeting hosted by the Corps of Engineers. You WILL NOT be charged a parking fee.
