The Corps plans to host a Public Information Meeting on August 25, 2004 at the
Citadel Alumni Center from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The Citadel Alumni Center is
located at 69 Hagood Avenue in Charleston.
The purpose of this Public Information Workshop is to provide an opportunity for
the Corps to share information related to the progress of the EIS with the
public. Topics of the workshop will include, the alternatives that will be
receiving a detailed evaluation in the DEIS (see
The Corps Selects Project Alternatives and Begins the Alternatives Analysis),
the scope of the DEIS, and issues of concern identified in the scoping
comments.
During the Public Information Workshop, members of the public will have the
opportunity to learn about the status of the EIS while mingling among those
people central to its development. The workshop will be an informal meeting for
the public; however, written public comments are encouraged and will be
collected throughout the evening.
Directions to the Citadel Alumni Center from North Charleston:
1) Take I-26 East towards Charleston.
2) Merge onto US-17 South/Septima Clark Expressway via exit # 221A towards Kings Street/Savannah. Remain in the right lane.
3) Turn right onto Hagood Avenue, the street immediately before the MacDonald's restaurant, also on the right.
4) Go straight through the signal at Fishburne Avenue.
5) The Citadel Alumni Center is a grey building facing Hagood Avenue on the left. Parking is available directly across the street in the stadium parking lot.
