Following the deadline for
scoping comments (which was April 15, 2004),
the Corps has reviewed, documented, and categorized
each comment by issue of concern. It is
very important to document the scoping comments, because the Corps will
consider these comments when determining the
scope of the EIS and reasonable alternatives.
Over 25 categories, with specific sub-categories,
were established in order to summarize the comments. In
future stakeholder meetings and project newsletters, the
Corps plans to present the scope of the EIS, announce
reasonable alternatives, describe affected environments,
and develop studies to evaluate potential impacts from
the construction and operation of the proposed marine
container terminal at the CNC.
If you have not already signed
up to receive announcements and/or newsletters, please
use the "Feedback"
form or "Public
Notice Registration"
form.
